The broncolor 2012 calendar is here. Each year broncolor creates a beautiful limited edition calendar that highlights the master work of a broncolor user. The 2012 edition brings the exceptional work of Indian photographer Tarum Khiwal.
Tarun's life journey as a photographer began 20 years ago. With no formal training in the subject, his skills as a photographer were acquired and developed, hands on, many a times, learning through his mistakes. Throughout this journey, Tarun has explored the medium without any inhibition; challenged and questioned every rule and notion that governs the visual language. It has been this fearless approach in expressing his vision, which has won him the praise of many, national and international accolades, the likes of which include being the first and only Indian to be honored with the Hasselblad Masters Award as well as eager aspiring photographers from all over the world who have relocated to work with him.
Since the very beginning, imagery has been the means through which Tarun has conveyed himself. It is the medium through which he has expressed his relationship with the universe that pulsates around him. Even today as we witness Tarun’s foray iinto moving images, he has never constrained himself to the limitations of a visual language. His continuing effort at broadening the horizons of his vision has seen him set benchmarks in both still as well as moving imagery. His work as it stands today is a culmination of his journey so far; a diverse body of his experiences.
Kick-starting his career with portrait photography, which was austere, yet recognized for the exquisiteness it carried, Tarun’s portfolio today is enclosed with clients such as Dior, L’Oreal, Nokia, Motorola, Pepsi, Hutch, Nestle, Sony, Nike, Reebok and Lakme. He has created images of several personalities including international artists, bollywood superstars as well as corporate honchos.
Tarun’s critically acclaimed editorial work appears regularly in national and international Editorials like Tank, Vogue, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, L’Officiel etc. What casts him in the mold of one of the country’s most sought after photographer is a perception of design and beauty that one would find in few. An avid traveler, his quest for knowledge is insatiable.
